Today we will talk a little bit about how sports, especially Jiu-jitsu can help your kids on their daily routine and why regular sports practice is the reason of school development improvement. An Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine study screened 12,000 6 to 18-year-old children and concluded that physical activity contributes to cognition, increasing the blood supply and oxygen to the brain, decreasing stress and improving concentration and humor.  (more…)

Submission Grappling and No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu at Athlas Training Team Fort Lauderdale

Each and every day the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) has been paying more attention to “no-gi”, American expressions that means Jiu Jistu without “kimono” (Gi). At Athlas Training Team Fort Lauderdale, there are specific days for this type of training: on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays for adults and Fridays and Saturdays for children. No-gi jiu-jitsu is so popular here that we had to split in it two categories: beginners and advanced. (more…)
