The environment and harmony of Athlas Training Team bring a welcoming atmosphere, where beginners in the sport will have separate classes from the athletes. We offer Mixed Martial Arts for all levels and, together with you, we will help you achieve your goals, whether adopting Mixed Martial Arts as a lifestyle or profession. Today, we have teachers who were once students themselves as part of our team. Our programs are designed to improve self-confidence and social development for both kids and adults, as well as to form the next generation of MMA fighters that will compete at one of the many Mixed Martial Arts competitions around the world.

The head coach of the academy is Professor Junior Fernandes, who has been involved in the sport for over 31 years , He purchased Athlas Training Team in Fort Lauderdale in 2012 and founded Athlas Training Team in 2023. Professor Junior Fernandes, married to his wife Ana Fernandes, jointly manages Athlas Training Team with her. They have two athlete children who, together, have amassed numerous titles in the world of jiu-jitsu. Their children were raised within the academy and are already part of the staff. One of Athlas Training Team’s strong values is family and respect.

Junior Fernandes started training BJJ (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) under Master Ricardo Liborio when he was only 12 years of age. He received his black belt from Master Liborio in 2004. (Read more about Junior Fernandes here)

Antonio Ricardo Jardim Libório (born July 13, 1967) is a Brazilian jiu jitsu black belt under Grand Master Carlson Gracie.[1][2] He is the co-founder of Athlas Training Team (ATT) and Brazilian Top Team (BTT), the founder and CEO of Martial Arts Nation and the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Institute (IBJJI), and also a professor of BJJ at the University of Central Florida.[2]
