Muay Thai Fort Lauderdale

The students at our mixed martial arts gym never disappoint when it comes to competitions. We’d like to give a huge congratulations to all of our students for their participation and wins two weeks ago at the Coral Springs tournament. Our excellent Muay Thai Fort Lauderdale coach Luiz Nazário always make sure his students receive the exact coaching they need to come out successful in tournaments!

muay thai classes fort lauderdaleSince Muay Thai fighters don’t receive belts for different ranks their recognition is strictly determined by how they perform in the ring. Our students from all different levels of experience put everything they learned during class to use. We are all very proud!

This competition was great because we brought students who were competing for their first time and they came out victorious. One of our amateurs Bethany Mollo who began training in our Muay thai Fort Lauderdale class not even a year ago did amazing in her first competition match and even took home a huge trophy! She is a perfect example of what can be accomplished when you keep your eyes on the prize and never give up on your goals.

Muay Thai is a close combat sport that uses the entire body as a weapon. It is referred to as “The art of eight limbs,” because it uses two hands, two knees, two elbows, and two legs. The focus of Muay Thai is to use crushing kicks, punches, elbows, and knee strikes. Grappling is not used during practice. During the match you are standing up striking your opponent for the duration of the fight since Muay Thai does not focus on groundwork.

Muay Thai requires a lotof conditioning They believe in setting a good example for all new students who might be nervous as well as for current ones that might need an extra dose of motivation.
