Kids Program Fort Lauderdale

Athlas Training Team Fort Lauderdale has always invested heavily in our kid’s programs because we know kids are the future and martial arts are extremely beneficial to their personal development.  Our Fort Lauderdale kids Jiu-Jitsu program is designed to not only teach them how to defend themselves but also to teach them valuable life skills, such as mental toughness.

In jiu-jitsu, you have to learn to deal with adversity and not be overwhelmed by it. You will be put in bad positions regularly and learn not to panic and deal with adversity. Sometimes you will win, sometimes you will lose, but you will learn to not dwell on the bad, just learn from it and move on. It’s often said that jiu-jitsu is about learning “to become comfortable being uncomfortable”. This is a valuable life skill that will also serve them in the classroom and make them more resilient adults.

Physical fitness and exercise are also a huge benefit of our kid’s jiu-jitsu program, especially in times like these when more and more kids are gravitating to sedentary activities like video games.

Jiu-jitsu is also great for building strong friendships on the mat. Kids will be routinely paired with other students who they will have to work together with to practice techniques. Over time this teaches them to work well with others to accomplish common goals, and as a result, strong friendships form.

Athlas Training Team Fort Lauderdale’s kid’s competition team is currently preparing for the IBJJF Pan Kids tournament in Orlando on July 23-24. This is the most prestigious jiu-jitsu tournament in the world for kids and we are currently hard at work preparing for it. This year Athlas Training Team Fort Lauderdale decided to bring one of the top kid’s jiu-jitsu athletes in the world over from Brazil to help him learn English and share his jiu-jitsu.

We also have our kid’s martial arts summer camp coming up June 20-24, as well as July 11-15. During that time we will have special classes for kids preparing for big tournaments like IBJJF Pan Kids as well as kids who are just learning jiu-jitsu for fun or self-defense.

So, no matter the goals or experience level of the student, jiu-jitsu is a martial art that will benefit your child in many ways on and off the mat. Come visit us and let us show you the difference jiu- jitsu can make in your child’s life. Give us a call today and let us help you reach those goals!
