Judo for kids
WHAT IS JUDO?
Judo is a Japanese martial art and sport created by Jigoro Kano in the late 19th century. It’s known as “the gentle way” because it emphasizes using an opponent’s strength against them. Judoka use throws, joint locks, and pins to control and defeat opponents, with the goal of throwing them forcefully onto their back or immobilizing them on the ground. Judo promotes physical fitness, mental discipline, respect, and sportsmanship. It’s not just about fighting but also about personal development and living by important values.
How are judo classes at Athlas Training Team ?
Judo for kids is a modified form of judo specifically designed for young ones. The emphasis is on teaching the fundamental techniques of judo in a safe and age-appropriate manner. At Athlas as Training Team, we offer judo for kids as a complement to our jiu-jitsu classes. These classes aim to develop coordination, balance, agility, and discipline while promoting respect for oneself and others. Training includes warm-up exercises, learning basic judo techniques, practicing with partners, and engaging in fun games to reinforce learning. Judo for kids at Atlas Training Team not only strengthens physical skills but also teaches lifelong skills.
