Athlas Training Team: A Standout Presence in Fort Lauderdale
The Athlas Training Team, known for its quality and tradition, represented Fort Lauderdale with great competence. Established in the city since 2012, the academy competed alongside other renowned academies worldwide, such as Gracie Barra, Fight Sports, and Carlos Gracie. Although Athlas operates just one location, it displayed strength, skill, and discipline as it competed against large teams across Florida.
The result
With a team of 37 students competing in the gi divisions in the juvenile, adult, and master categories, Athlas secured an impressive total of 41 medals, including 14 gold, 13 silver, and 14 bronze.
In the No-Gi division, the team brought 12 athletes, who collectively earned 13 medals—8 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze. These results reflect not only the skill level of the athletes but also the dedication of Athlas’s coaches and technical team.
Among the standout athletes of the team are siblings Ana Luiza and Jorjão Fernandes, who together secured six gold medals and one silver.
Also competing in the blue belt category, Zack Schrader had an overwhelming campaign. Consequently, the American clinched four gold medals after dominating the ultra-heavyweight and open weight divisions, both with and without the gi, in the adult blue belt category.
